24/7 Musical Theatre Factory will open its 2007-2008 season with the five-time Tony Award-winning musical PIPPIN on November 9, 2007 at 8:00 and November 10th at 2:00 and 8:00 at the Weinberg Centre in Frederick.
The musical PIPPIN is as relevant today as it was when it was written three decades ago during the "Me Generation." The main story in PIPPIN is timeless - someone trying to figure out what to do with his life. This is a question every generation has to deal with and the answer inevitably involves compromise and learning what's important. PIPPIN is an electrifying, tongue-in-cheek fairy tale that dazzles audiences with a kaleidoscope of sights and sounds. Prince Pippin, son of Charlemagne, embarks upon a quest for true fulfillment, seeking his own corner of the sky. He relishes the glories of the battlefield, savors the temptations of the flesh and embroils himself in political intrigues. He finds that nothing can satisfy him - or so he thinks. Stephen Schwartz's vibrant pop-rock score features "Magic to Do," "Morning Glow" and "Corner of the Sky." Over the years these songs have been re-recorded by everyone from The Jackson 5 to The Supremes and Ben Vereen.
The cast includes: Felicia Lobo (Leading Player), Joe Mannarino (Pippin), Dalton Korrell (Charles), Charlie Cizek (Lewis), Stephenie Kelman (Fastrada), Calvin Andrukat (The Head), Sarah Biggs (Berthe), Chelsea Bondarenko (Catherine), Jacob Brittingham (Theo), Mary LaRoche (Beggar), Alexander Fuste (Peasant), Daniel Valentin-Morales (field Marshall), Holly King (Female Courtier), Tanya Degray (Baron), Paige Khoury (Petitioner),and an ensemble cast including: Leslie Bowen, Andrea Czajkowski, Bayla Cohen, Emily Dawson, Annie Frasier, Katie Gigante, Timmy Huth, Kailee Klipp, Peter Lang, Emma Trapp, Casey Zanowicz.
PIPPIN is directed by Theatre Director William Morris and choreographed by Yara Jahrling with musical direction by David Loy.
